EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY: IRS Cultural Support Provider

POSITION:
IRS Cultural Support Provider – Full time

JOB OVERVIEW:

Driftpile Cree Nation Health Centre is currently looking to fill the fulltime term position of IRS Cultural Support Provider. Reporting to the Health Director, the IRS Cultural Support Provider will be responsible to provide supportive cultural service deliverables from within the IRS Program of DCN Maggie Wellness Centre. The individual will provide cultural support services and events, cultural enhancement and enrichment, and support to Residential School Survivors and their families.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Understands the elements of the IRS Program and is able to provide cultural support services to individuals and families of the community
  • Maintains the ability to educate and advise individuals on the IRS Program elements, goals and objectives and associated activities, which will support a better understanding of cultural service accessibility
  • Acts as an advocate and support system to individuals and families, where deemed necessary
  • Work as an effective member of the health team and shall positively contribute to planned strategies and initiatives for the betterment of the community
  • Actively participates in DCN planned events
  • Ensures services reporting and documentation are completed in a timely manner
  • Maintains organized service information (files, records, statistical and corresponding information)
  • Perform any additional administrative support as required

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Health & Human Resources Certificate/Diploma
  • Grade 12
  • Must be alcohol/drug/substance abuse free for two years
  • proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint, email and other communications programming
  • Basic financial/accounting skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively as a team member
  • Experience in needs assessment and program planning
  • Ability to understand and speak Cree and asset
  • Access to and use of reliable vehicle to meet the demands of the job
  • Knowledge of DCN community resources
  • Knowledge of pertinent health issues affecting community
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Provide Criminal record check and CWIS
