Want To Help Grow The Driftpile Cree Nation

Driftpile Tourism Project for Sustainable Economic Development

The Cree Consortium intends to develop the kinds of facilities that will turn Lesser Slave Lake into one of Northern Alberta’s top vacation areas in the 1990’s. Lesser Slave Lake itself has some of the best beaches and water in all of Alberta.

Until now, however, there has been too little development of tourism facilities in the area to present a viable alternative to existing vacation destinations elsewhere in the province. The majority of Alberta vacationers and non-Albertan visitors now spend their summer vacations at the mountain parks and interior British Columbia lakes.

We believe a well planned tourism development project for Lesser Slave Lake, which offers quality accommodations and a variety of services and activities on and around the lake, will attract vacationers from all over Central and Northern Alberta.

As tourism in general increases in Alberta, vacationers are expected to visit each of the Consortium’s resorts from all parts of Alberta, Canada and elsewhere. The Consortium’s project will be worth visiting.
